38 Special
38 Special is a hybrid strain name applied to two distinct genetic lineages, each offering unique terpene profiles and effects ranging from cerebral focus to heavy, indica-leaning relaxation.
About 38 Special
The name 38 Special refers to two separate genetic expressions. The first variation is a balanced hybrid resulting from a cross of Heavy Duty Fruity and OG Kush. Users report this version provides an immediate cerebral lift that promotes focus and bliss, eventually transitioning into a mellow, content body relaxation. Its flavor profile is characterized by a blend of sweet and tangy citrus, creamy vanilla, and berries, complemented by an aroma of sweet fruit and spice.
The second variation, cultivated by Hollowtips, is an indica-dominant hybrid bred from Animal Mints Bx1 and Face Off OG. This version is noted for a euphoric, spacey onset that settles into a heavy body buzz. The flavor profile leans toward sweet vanilla cake and mint on the inhale, with a gassy, peppery finish on the exhale. Its aroma is a complex mix of sweet cake, pine, and lemon.
Plant characteristics
The first variation produces large, fluffy nuggets featuring minty green coloration, delicate orange pistils, and a coating of white trichomes. The second variation displays dusty green and deep purple nuggets with sparse pistils and a sticky layer of trichomes.
