AJ Sour Diesel, or AJ’s Sour Diesel, is a clone-only variety associated with cultivator Joe Murray (AJ). According to Murray, the lineage originated when a Chem 91 plant was pollinated by an unknown strain from Sensi Seeds, resulting in a cross nicknamed "Diesel." Murray continued working with this line in 1994, when a random seed produced the specific phenotype now recognized as Sour Diesel.

This sativa-dominant hybrid features a potent aromatic profile of earthy skunk, diesel fuel, and sour citrus.
