Bonkers

hybrid

Bonkers is a name shared by two distinct hybrid strains from different breeders, leading to potential confusion in the marketplace. One version focuses on citrus and cream profiles, while the other emphasizes berry and stone fruit characteristics.

About Bonkers

There are currently two unrelated strains circulating under the name Bonkers. The first, bred by Exotic Genetix, is a cross between Cookies and Cream and Lemon Tree. This version is noted for a flavor profile of cream and citrus fruit, with a scent dominated by citrus and spices. The second version, created by the Canadian breeders at Next Generation Seeds, features a lineage consisting of Grapefruit, Burmese, Purple Indica, and a ruderalis cultivar. This iteration is reported to taste of stone fruit and spices, with a primary aroma profile of berries and sweet fruit. Users of the Bonkers name generally report an initial energetic, happy effect that transitions into a more relaxed state over time.

Plant characteristics

The Exotic Genetix version of Bonkers grows into medium-to-tall plants with bushy foliage that benefits from regular trimming; it produces heavy yields of lime green buds. The Next Generation Seeds version develops into short, stocky plants. Both versions are known for fast flowering times, with the Exotic Genetix variety maturing in 56 to 63 days indoors or by late September outdoors, while the Next Generation Seeds variety can mature in as little as 42 days, with outdoor harvests occurring in mid-to-late September.
