Released in 2024, Gassy Taffy serves as the cornerstone of a namesake line from Symbiotic Genetics. The strain was created through a collaboration with California-based LoKey Farms, who hunted the parent strain GB6 Trix—a specific phenotype of Gorilla Breath—which was then crossed with Hylyfe to produce the final cultivar. The flower is characterized by a complex aromatic profile that blends diesel and earthy undertones with sugary, candy-like sweetness. Gassy Taffy has since been utilized to develop additional varieties, including Flow State (a cross with Scoby) and Grease Fire (a cross with Grease Bucket).
It should be noted that some sources incorrectly attribute the genetics to a cross of Blueberry and Sour Diesel, or Gorilla Glue and Mendo Breath, and credit LoKey Farms as the breeder; these claims are inaccurate.
Plant characteristics
The plant produces purple-hued buds that are heavily coated in trichomes, giving them a glittering appearance. Small orange pistils are present, though they are largely obscured by the dense layer of crystals.
