GG4, formerly known as Gorilla Glue, is an indica-dominant hybrid that emerged from the Nevada cannabis scene. The strain was named by breeder Joesy Whales of GG Strains, who noted that the plant's resin was so adhesive that it would bind his scissors and fingers during the trimming process. Due to trademark concerns regarding the adhesive brand, the strain is now frequently referred to as Original Glue.
Genetically, GG4 is a complex hybrid resulting from a cross between Chem’s Sister, Chocolate Diesel, and Sour Dubb. The resulting flower is known for a pungent aroma characterized by pine, chocolate, and diesel fuel. Among veteran consumers, the strain is frequently associated with reports of deep relaxation, euphoria, and eventual sleepiness. Its reputation is bolstered by a history of competition success, including a first-place win for Best Hybrid Flower at the 2015 World Cannabis Cup and a second-place finish in the same category at the 2016 Colorado Cannabis Cup.
