Ghost OG
Ghost OG is a foundational cultivar in the OG Kush lineage, existing as both a highly regarded clone-only phenotype and a later seed-grown line developed by Apothecary Genetics.
About Ghost OG
Ghost OG is a significant figure in the history of California cannabis, serving as a cornerstone for the OG Kush dynasty. The name currently refers to two distinct entities: the original clone-only phenotype and a subsequent seed line released by Apothecary Genetics.
### Origins
The original Ghost OG is a clone-only phenotype of OG Kush, widely known as the "Ghost cut." Cannabis lore from the OverGrow forums suggests that a breeder known as OrgnKid provided an OG Kush cutting to a grower named Ghost, whose moniker became permanently attached to the plant. This specific cut has since served as essential breeding stock for numerous OG-family cultivars.
Separately, Apothecary Genetics created a seed-grown Ghost OG line by using the original Ghost OG clone as the female parent in a cross with Joe's OG Kush. Because Joe's OG Kush is derived from the SFV OG lineage, this version is an "OG-on-OG" cross rather than the source of the original clone.
### Profile and Experience
Ghost OG maintains the classic aromatic profile associated with its family, characterized by notes of diesel, pine, and earth, accented by sharp citrus, woody herbs, and peppery spice. Dense green flowers typically carry bright orange pistils beneath a thick coat of trichomes. Users frequently report a potent cerebral lift upon onset, which gradually transitions into a heavier, more relaxed physical state. The experience is often described as euphoric and happy, balancing mental stimulation with the substantial body effects expected from traditional OG varieties.
Plant characteristics
The plants reach a medium height and are suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoors, the flowering period lasts eight to nine weeks, while outdoor crops in the Northern Hemisphere typically reach maturity in early October. The cultivar is noted for its resistance to common pests and diseases.
