Kurple
Kurple, also known as Kurple Fantasy, is a hybrid strain recognized for its vibrant coloration and distinct licorice-forward flavor profile. It is associated with two separate breeding histories, both of which utilize Old Man Purps as a foundational component.
About Kurple
The history of Kurple is characterized by two distinct origin stories. The first, Kurple Fantasy, was created in 2007 by Imperial Genetics in Denver. This iteration is a cross between Old Man Purps and the breeder’s ’92 OG selection. It is noted for a flavor profile featuring spicy, floral, and licorice notes and has received recognition at the High Times Cannabis Cup, with a flowering time of 56-63 days.
Alternatively, the strain known simply as Kurple was developed by Cult Classic Seeds. This version was created by crossing a high-potency OG Kush cut with Old Man Purps, a strain derived from purple indica landraces originating in Pakistan. The name is a portmanteau of its parentage, Kush and Purple. This specific selection earned second place at the 2012 High Times Denver Cannabis Cup and is noted for its licorice flavor and high THC potential. Users generally describe the experience as a balanced lift that transitions into deep relaxation without inducing heavy sedation.
Plant characteristics
The plant typically maintains a squat stature. When grown indoors, it reaches maturity between 50 and 70 days. The buds are characterized by a mix of lime green foliage, purple patches, and orange pistils, all covered in a dense layer of trichomes.
