Mean Green (Martian Mean Green)

hybrid

Mean Green, also known as Martian Mean Green, is a sativa-leaning hybrid bred by DNA Genetics, best known for winning first place in the Sativa category at the 2005 High Times Cannabis Cup.

About Mean Green (Martian Mean Green)

Mean Green was created by DNA Genetics by crossing a Sharksbreath female with a G13 Haze male provided by Soma, a grower who moved from the United States to the Netherlands in 1997. The development process involved three distinct phenotypes; the first two were characterized by slow flowering cycles and underwhelming results. Breeders eventually isolated 'Type C,' which offered a refined flavor profile and increased potency. While many seed sellers currently offer feminized seeds claiming direct lineage to the original DNA Genetics cultivar, the market remains varied. Users report a powerful, psychedelic effect that can build into a state of relaxed hunger.

Plant characteristics

The Type C phenotype displays an indica-like growth pattern combined with the open structure typical of sativa-dominant strains. It is a short plant that produces more side branching than average. During a 63-to-70-day flowering cycle, it produces tight, compact buds. Reported THC levels can occasionally exceed 20%.
