Mother of Berries
Mother of Berries (MOB) is a compact, indica-dominant cultivar celebrated for its distinct berry-forward flavor profile and dense, purple-hued flowers.
About Mother of Berries
Mother of Berries (MOB), also known as Mother of All Berries or Maine Original Blueberry, possesses a debated lineage reflecting its heritage in North American and European cannabis cultivation. One origin story traces the strain to Maine, where it reportedly emerged as a cross between Blueberry and Jerry Berry. A competing, widely accepted account credits the genetics to a cross of Freezeland—a backcross of the Quebec-developed Friesland—and a specially selected Blueberry phenotype, with Dutch breeder T.H. Seeds later refining the genetics.
In 2015, the strain earned second place in the Indica category at the Expo Grow Cannabis Cup in Irun. While potency varies by cultivation method, the strain has been reported to test consistently above 20% THC. Users describe the experience as a deeply relaxing physical sensation accompanied by mental clarity, euphoria, and enhanced creativity. Its aroma and flavor profile are noted for evoking wild blueberry fields and freshly baked berry pie.
Plant characteristics
This compact, resilient plant maintains a manageable stature. It develops dense buds adorned with purplish hues, light green and orange pistils, and an abundant trichome coating. The strain typically flowers in eight to nine weeks indoors or by early October in outdoor settings, where it thrives in warm, dry climates.
