Orange Velvet
Orange Velvet is a hybrid strain of uncertain origin, recognized for its distinct orange and vanilla aromatic profile and its historical role as a foundational parent for several TGA Genetics cultivars.
About Orange Velvet
The origins of Orange Velvet remain largely mysterious, though it is frequently cited as a cross involving Orange Skunk and an unidentified strain from the Pacific Northwest. The strain gained wider recognition after being gifted to Mz Jill of TGA Genetics by a medical patient named Luanne. Originally referred to as "Melvin," the strain was renamed Orange Velvet by Mz Jill, who felt the original moniker did not suit the plant's aesthetic. Beyond its history, the strain is noted for a flavor and scent profile characterized by earthy notes of orange, vanilla, and sweetness. Users have described the experience as both energizing and deeply relaxing. It is widely acknowledged as the maternal source for TGA Genetics' well-known varieties, including Jilly Bean and Agent Orange.
