Pineapple Zest encompasses at least two exotic hybrid varieties. Due to their shared name and similar profiles, they are often confused with one another and occasionally mislabeled as AK, though that strain is only a confirmed parent of one version.
One iteration is a balanced hybrid of unknown origin. This variety is a backcross involving Super Bud, which descends from Afghani, South Asian, and Thai genetics. Fans of this version describe a sweet and sour tropical citrus flavor, accompanied by an uplifting mental energy and a calm sense of physical relaxation.
The second version was selected by Mikey at Prūf Cultivar. This variety is a cross between AK and an unidentified hybrid. As one of Prūf Cultivar’s earlier selections, it is noted for a sweet aroma of tropical fruit and a relaxed, functional high.
Plant characteristics
The first variety features bright, leafy-green foliage accented by dark clusters of thick orange pistils. The Prūf Cultivar selection is distinguishable by its more compact growth habit and pale pistil presentation.
