Red Pop
Red Pop is a hybrid strain name applied to two distinct genetic lineages, both characterized by a prominent strawberry-soda aroma profile.
About Red Pop
The name Red Pop covers at least two different genetic versions, both chasing a strawberry-soda funk from different family trees. The version associated with 710 Savant is the older iteration, originating in Michigan and famously taking first prize for live resin at the 2015 High Times Michigan Cannabis Cup. This version is a cross of Afghani and an unidentified parent; while some sources suggest a sweet Strawberry phenotype, the lineage remains unconfirmed. This iteration is noted for a profile of fruit, berry, earth, and spiced strawberry.
Exotic Genetix created a separate version by crossing Strawberry with Cookies & Cream and working the cultivar into an S1 line. This roughly 60/40 indica-leaning hybrid emphasizes strawberry candy and red fruit punch notes, balanced by creamy vanilla and occasional hints of apple or citrus. Across both versions, the aroma is consistently described as reminiscent of berry candy or fruit punch, with the 710 Savant version leaning toward earth and spice, while the Exotic Genetix version favors confectionary sweetness. Reported effects include a happy, social lift, a giggly disposition, and a gentle body calm. Potency typically ranges from the high teens to the mid-20s in THC percentage.
Plant characteristics
Red Pop grows as a short, indica-dominant plant with resilience against moisture, disease, and weather fluctuations. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation and responds well to regular pruning and the Sea of Green (SOG) method. Indoor flowering occurs between 49 and 63 days, with outdoor harvests typically ready by early October. Yields are generally considered below average.
