Silk Road
Silk Road is a name shared by two distinct, potentially unrelated cultivars: a landrace-heavy heirloom cross from Old World Organics and a high-potency retail release from Pete's Farmstand.
About Silk Road
Silk Road exists as two separate entities with no confirmed genetic link. The first version, selected by Old World Organics, is a balanced 50/50 hybrid composed of Malana, Milk of Mazar, China Yunnan, and Vietnam Black. This lineage draws from diverse landrace origins across India, Afghanistan, China, and Vietnam. Users report a flavor profile defined by sandalwood and pine with a creamy citrus finish, noting an experience that begins with social, talkative energy before transitioning into a centered euphoria.
The second version, released by Pete's Farmstand in New Jersey, appears frequently on dispensary menus with high THC concentrations, often ranging between 31% and 34%. This iteration is typically labeled as a hybrid or sativa hybrid. Laboratory testing for one batch identified a terpene profile led by limonene, supported by beta-caryophyllene, beta-myrcene, and linalool. Because the lineage of the Pete's Farmstand release remains undisclosed, it is currently treated as a separate strain sharing the same name rather than a confirmed relative of the Old World Organics heirloom.
Plant characteristics
The Old World Organics version of Silk Road exhibits an open, tall, and stretchy sativa-leaning structure that requires significant vertical space. It is considered a moderate-difficulty plant with a flowering period of approximately 8 to 9 weeks indoors, or an early-to-mid October harvest when grown outdoors at 45°N. It is best suited for warm, temperate, or Mediterranean climates and is noted for high to very high yield potential.
