Sumo Grande
Sumo Grande is a hybrid strain bred by Colorado Seed Inc. by crossing Hong Kong with their proprietary Nina Limone, recognized for its oversized buds and citrus-forward profile.
About Sumo Grande
Sumo Grande was bred by the Denver-based Colorado Seed Inc. as a cross between Hong Kong (a descendant of Sour Diesel) and the breeder's proprietary Nina Limone. The strain is characterized by its large, oversized buds that emit aromas of fresh citrus and woody pine, with a coppery undertone that emerges once the nugs are ground. When combusted, the smoke is described as light and herbal, with a flavor profile that leans into the citrus notes. Users report an energizing lift that may spark creativity and focus.
Plant characteristics
The plants exhibit vigorous growth, particularly in outdoor environments where their sativa genetics can lead to significant height that necessitates regular pruning. Due to the weight of the large buds, the plants often require structural support. Indoors, the flowering period is approximately 70 days, while outdoor harvests typically occur in mid-October. The strain is reported to produce high yields and is currently available only in clone form.
