Super Yuzu
Super Yuzu, also known as Yuzu Sour, is a name shared by three distinct genetic lines, ranging from balanced hybrids to sativa-dominant crosses and autoflowering varieties, all unified by a prominent citrus-forward terpene profile.
About Super Yuzu
The name Super Yuzu (or Yuzu Sour) is currently applied to three unrelated genetic projects, leading to significant variation in lineage and effects. The first is a balanced 50/50 hybrid derived from a cross of Sour Tangie and EZBake AF, noted for maintaining a citrus profile without a strong sativa or indica bias.
The second, and most common, version is a sativa-dominant (70/30) cross of Orange Sherbert, Oz Kush, and Gastro Pop, specifically phenotype #18. This iteration is characterized by a complex aromatic profile of sharp lemon, tart yuzu, sweet candy, and floral lilac. It is known for high resin production and high THC potential, sometimes reaching 33% depending on the cultivator.
The third version is an autoflowering strain bred by Tastebudz Seeds, which crosses Critical Lemoncello with Mimosa. This is an indica-dominant plant that emphasizes rapid development, though it retains a diesel, lemon, and mandarin scent profile. There is a notable discrepancy regarding the flowering time of this autoflower: while the breeder suggests 7-8 weeks, independent data suggests a longer cycle closer to 77 days.
Reported experiences for the citrus-forward cuts generally involve an initial surge of energy and mood elevation, often described as talkative and social, followed by a mild physical relaxation. These are typically favored for daytime use or social settings.
Plant characteristics
The sativa-dominant phenotype #18 produces dense, resin-heavy buds that display deep forest green and dark purple coloration. The plant is generally suited for warm, sunny climates with consistent airflow to support the health of its trichome-dense flowers.
