Zkittlez
Zkittlez is a celebrated hybrid known for its distinct candy-like terpene profile and its role in popularizing fruit-forward cannabis genetics.
About Zkittlez
Zkittlez, often referred to as Z or The Original Z, is a prominent hybrid associated with 3rd Gen Family and Terp Hogz. Its lineage is widely cited as a cross between Grape Ape and Grapefruit, though some accounts suggest the presence of an undisclosed third parent in the original breeding stock. Regardless of its exact genetic composition, the strain became a benchmark for dessert-leaning cultivars. The aroma and flavor are characterized by a blend of sweet berries, grape, tropical fruit, and citrus, balanced by earthy, herbal, and peppery undertones. Reported experiences suggest a balanced effect that begins with a happy, mentally present state before transitioning into a deeper, relaxing physical sensation. The strain gained significant recognition on the competition circuit, securing first-place Indica honors at the 2015 High Times Cannabis Cups in Michigan and San Francisco, as well as a win at the 2016 Emerald Cup.
Plant characteristics
The flowers typically grow as dense, chunky, round nugs. The foliage displays olive-to-light-green coloring, often accented by purple tones and dark orange-to-amber pistils, all coated in a sticky layer of trichomes.
