Black Widow

hybrid

Black Widow is an Indica-leaning hybrid derived from Brazilian and South Indian landrace genetics, originally released by breeder Scott Blakey (Shantibaba) under the name White Widow.

About Black Widow

Black Widow is an Indica-leaning hybrid composed of Brazilian and South Indian landrace genetics. The strain was originally cultivated by breeder Scott Blakey, known as Shantibaba, under the name White Widow. Following the departure of Blakey and breeder Howard Marks—also known as Mr. Nice—from the Green House Seed Company in the late 1990s, the name was changed to Black Widow to distinguish their specific genetic line from other iterations of White Widow circulating among various seed banks. The strain gained early recognition by securing 1st Place at the 1995 High Times Cannabis Cup. Users report an experience that is both uplifting and deeply relaxing, characterized by bright lemon and pine aromas with earthy berry undertones.

Plant characteristics

The plant is characterized by the development of frosty, resinous buds. During the final weeks of the 56-70 day flowering period, the plant exhibits vigorous growth and produces a strong, distinct aroma.
