Named after the ape Caesar from the "Planet of the Apes" film series, the strain Caesar was bred by Exotic Genetix as a high-potency hybrid. It was created by crossing the indica-dominant Triple OG with the sativa-dominant Gorilla Glue, though the latter parent is sometimes incorrectly identified as Original Glue. While Exotic Genetix has retired the strain and ceased seed production, the genetics persist through various grower selections.
A distinct version of Caesar was also produced by Alphakronik, utilizing a cross of Gorilla Glue and an Alphakronik-specific cultivar. It is important to distinguish this strain from Julius Caesar, an indica-dominant hybrid bred by The Cali Connection.
