THE DISPENSE STRAIN GUIDE

Cheese

hybrid

Cheese is a renowned hybrid strain originating from the United Kingdom in the late 1980s, celebrated for its distinctively sharp, savory aroma and mellow, cheerful effects.

About Cheese

Cheese is widely considered to be a specific phenotype of Skunk #1, a variety originally developed by Sam “The Skunkman” after he relocated from California to the Netherlands. The strain gained significant notoriety in the UK during the late 1980s, where it was identified as a clone-only female. Its name is derived from its signature pungent, cheddar-like scent, which blends with classic skunk earthiness. Following its initial discovery, various underground breeders in the UK reportedly crossed this clone-only plant with other Indica varieties to produce seed-based versions of the strain. Notably, Big Buddha Seeds developed a version of Cheese by crossing the original genetics with a pure-bred Afghani strain, an iteration that secured first place in the Indica category at the 2006 High Times Cannabis Cup. Users report a cheerful, mellow buzz that settles into relaxed contentment.

Plant characteristics

The plant is reported to grow tall and is capable of producing high yields. It has a flowering period ranging from 56 to 70 days and is noted for its resistance to mold, mildew, and pests.
