About Cherry Pie

Cherry Pie encompasses two different genetic packages circulating under the same name. The original, clone-only version is traced to Bay Area breeder Pieguy, who crossed Granddaddy Purple with an F1 Durban line. This cut was cultivated and circulated by Jigga, becoming a staple of the early San Francisco Cookie Family scene. It gained recognition by placing third in the Medical Sativa category at the 2014 Denver High Times Cannabis Cup.

A second iteration was created by Riot Seeds, who crossed the original female Cherry Pie clone with a WCD 710 male carrying West Coast Dawg and Sugenite OG genetics. This version is a sativa-leaning seed line rather than a clone-only cut. Users report that the experience of Cherry Pie typically begins with a happy, euphoric, and upbeat cerebral spark that gradually settles into an easygoing sense of relaxation, though the specific character of the experience can vary depending on which version is consumed.

Plant characteristics

The original Pieguy/Jigga clone produces dense flowers featuring a mix of green and purple hues, covered in a heavy layer of trichomes and accented by rusty orange pistils. The aroma is characterized by sweet cherry and dark berry notes, layered with dough, earth, and spice, finished with a sharp fuel-like streak. The Riot Seeds version is noted for its relatively short stature and the ability to develop deep maroon and purple coloration during its roughly nine-week flowering cycle.
