It is a cross between Sunset Sherbet and Biscotti Sundae. The name is derived from the Italian word for "tart," reflecting a flavor profile characterized by creamy vanilla and berry notes. Despite these dessert-like qualities, the strain is noted for a distinct, underlying gassy, petrol-like aroma.

Chemically, Crostata is recognized for having moderate THC levels paired with a high total terpene concentration, with myrcene being particularly prominent.
