Frost Berry

hybrid
AliasFrost Berries

Frost Berry is a name shared by several distinct hybrid lineages, all characterized by heavy trichome production and berry-forward flavor profiles. Because the name is used by multiple breeders, the specific genetic background and resulting effects vary significantly depending on the source.

About Frost Berry

The name Frost Berry is applied to several unrelated cannabis projects, each prioritizing a sugary, resinous appearance and berry-dominant aromatics.

One common iteration, of unknown origin, is a roughly 60% indica hybrid derived from Blackberry and an unnamed indica. This version is noted for buds that appear heavily coated in trichomes, resembling sugared fruit. Users report an aroma of sweet berries and herbal spice, with a flavor profile that remains fruit-forward with floral undertones. The reported experience is characterized by a rapid onset of fuzzy calm and a creeping physical sensation that often leads to sedation.

NorStar Genetics selected a variation known as Frost Berries, which crosses Blackberry with Dead Head OG. This selection is distinguished by a more pronounced OG-style funk beneath the berry notes. It is reported to offer higher yields and a more robust, heavy-bodied relaxation compared to other versions.

A third iteration was released by Apothecary Genetics, featuring work by the breeder Icemaster. This version was created by crossing a Blackberry male with a pure indica landrace. This specific lineage is noted for its sedative effects and distinct violet coloration in the flowers, alongside high resin production.
