Grapefruit Chem
Grapefruit Chem is a terpene-forward hybrid that balances the sharp, acidic profile of Sweet Pink Grapefruit with the heavy, fuel-driven funk of Chem 91.
About Grapefruit Chem
Grapefruit Chem, also known as G-Chem, was selected by Trade Wind Seed Company from bag seed discovered in Sweet Pink Grapefruit flower. The breeder suspects a hermaphroditic Chem 91 plant supplied the pollen, making Sweet Pink Grapefruit × Chem 91 the accepted lineage. The aromatic profile features tart grapefruit peel and sour citrus, followed by diesel, skunk, and a persistent, sweaty Chem funk, with pine, earth, and pepper undertones. Users report a fast-hitting, clear, and energetic lift that provides physical ease without feeling scattered, making it a common choice for daytime use.
While Trade Wind Seed Company holds the original breeding origin, the strain gained East Coast visibility through commercial releases by Piff Coast Farms, Hamilton Farms, and Sour Family Farms. These represent grower partnerships rather than separate breeding origins.
Plant characteristics
Grapefruit Chem exhibits a sativa-leaning structure with long lateral branching and a sprawling growth habit. Indoors, plants typically reach 4–5 feet, with greater vertical stretch outdoors. The flowering cycle lasts 9–10 weeks, producing dense, resin-heavy colas accented by bright orange pistils.
