Harambe
Harambe is a shared tribute name applied to several distinct, unrelated cannabis cultivars. Because multiple breeders have released unique genetics under this title, the strain's lineage, aroma, and effects vary entirely based on the specific origin of the plant.
About Harambe
Harambe is a four-way genetic name collision rather than a single, consistent strain. The breeder or product label is the only reliable indicator of the plant's actual identity.
Loompa Farms selected a version by crossing Foo Dog, an OG Kush variation, with the clone-only Frost Berry Blast. This cultivar is characterized by a profile of pungent earth, sweet herbs, fruit, pine, and lemon. Reliable effects data for this version remains scarce.
Third Eye Genetics created a mostly indica version using a Grape Ape mother and a father combining GG4 with Jet Fuel G6. This iteration is associated with notes of sour earth and pungent spice, followed by grape and herbal notes.
Ethos Genetics released a version composed of Original Glue, Citral Skunk, and Black Fire. This plant is noted for thick trichome coverage and heavy resin production, with a profile dominated by diesel and citrus. This genetic package is also marketed by Canna America as Harambe’s Glue. Megaleaf also offers a resin-heavy Harambe Glue, though its documentation only explicitly links the genetics to Original Glue. Harambe Glue should be treated as an origin-specific market name rather than an alternate name for every Harambe.
An uncredited retail version exists, described as GG4 crossed with OG Kush. This version is associated with a profile of spicy grape, sour earth, dank herb, and pungent gas. Reported effects for this branch include a tingly, euphoric onset that transitions into heavy, long-lasting physical relaxation.
Across all versions, user experiences vary significantly. Some report an energetic, creative, and social spark, while others describe a tingly euphoric rush that gathers weight and melts into deep physical relaxation or couch-lock. Because of these disparate origins, Harambe should be treated as a tribute name rather than a single cultivar; lineage, potency, aroma, and effects must be verified against the specific breeder's documentation.
Plant characteristics
The plants generally grow into short, broad-leaved, indica-style bushes. The Third Eye Genetics cut typically finishes flowering in seven to eight weeks, with outdoor harvests in late September. The Loompa Farms cut requires approximately 65–70 days. The Ethos Genetics version is noted for thick trichome coverage and heavy resin production.
