King Kong
King Kong is a name shared by two distinct hybrid strains from different breeders, each featuring unique genetic lineages and flavor profiles.
About King Kong
The version of King Kong by Spanish breeder Dr. Underground was created by crossing Sensi Seeds’ Ed Rosenthal Super Bud with a reversed Chronic from Serious Seeds. This iteration was developed to emphasize heavy resin production, high yields, and a shortened growth cycle. It is reported to feature a flavor profile of lemon, skunk, and incense.
Alternatively, the King Kong released by Big Buddha Seeds utilizes a different genetic foundation, crossing Gorilla Glue with White Widow and a reversed Big Buddha Cheese. This version is described as having a sour fruit flavor profile with chocolate undertones, attributed to its Gorilla Glue lineage. This selection earned third place in the Bio category at the 2018 Highlife Cup in Amsterdam.
Plant characteristics
Dr. Underground’s King Kong is characterized by vigorous vegetative growth and produces large yields of light green, trichome-coated colas, with an indoor flowering period of seven to eight weeks or an outdoor harvest window of late September to early October. The Big Buddha Seeds version is described as an indica-leaning plant that grows tall with an eight-to-11-week flowering cycle.
