Pineapple Express
Pineapple Express is a hybrid cultivar that gained widespread notoriety following the 2008 film of the same name, leading to a variety of interpretations by different breeders.
About Pineapple Express
The origins of Pineapple Express are deeply intertwined with pop culture. According to actor and comedian Seth Rogen, the cultivar did not exist until after the 2008 film brought the name into the spotlight, prompting growers to attempt to manifest the "dopest dope" described on screen. G13 Labs claims to have originated the strain in the mid-2000s by selecting Trainwreck and Hawaiian as parent genetics. Following its introduction, the hybrid proliferated among California medical marijuana dispensaries. Because 11 seed banks and numerous growers subsequently aimed to create their own version of the "true" Pineapple Express, there is no single standardized version, and multiple variations currently exist in the marketplace.
Plant characteristics
The flowers are typically characterized by a lean, fluffy structure with a distinct lime-green and yellow coloration. The aroma is noted for its tropical, citrus-forward profile, often attributed to a high concentration of the terpene limonene.
