THE DISPENSE STRAIN GUIDE

Sour Tsunami

hybrid

Sour Tsunami is a CBD-rich, sativa-dominant hybrid bred by Lawrence Ringo, known for its complex diesel-forward profile and its historical significance in high-CBD cannabis development.

About Sour Tsunami

Sour Tsunami was bred by Lawrence Ringo of the Southern Humboldt Seed Collective through a multi-generational project. The lineage began by crossing NYC Diesel with Sour Diesel, then back-crossing the progeny with a Sour Diesel clone. This resulting line, dubbed Double Diesel, was crossed with a West Coast sativa-dominant strain called Ferrari. In 2010, Ringo crossed these genetics back to Sour Diesel to finalize the strain. Because the genetics are not fully stabilized, plants grown from seed exhibit phenotypic variation, with approximately 25 percent of offspring producing high-CBD flowers. The strain earned second place for best CBD flower at the 2018 Colorado Rooster Cup. Users report an energetic, focus-oriented experience accompanied by an aroma profile of diesel fuel, earthy blueberry, and lime.

Plant characteristics

The plants grow to a medium-tall height. When left untrained, they develop mature, conical-shaped buds. Outdoor harvests typically occur by mid-October in the Northern Hemisphere and mid-April in the Southern Hemisphere. Indoor flowering cycles generally conclude between 60 and 65 days.
