Space Ape
Space Ape is a name shared by two genetically distinct hybrid cultivars, neither of which is related to the strain Apes in Space.
About Space Ape
Space Ape refers to two distinct, unrelated hybrids sharing the same name. The first, better-documented version is a cross of MAC #15-O and Gorilla Diesel #21-O. Regional growers often sell this as a straight MAC x Gorilla Diesel cross. Its aroma features cake batter, damp earth, and crushed flowers, followed by a sharp, funky fuel finish. THC levels for this version range from the high teens into the low 30s.
The second version is reported to be a cross of Gorilla Glue #4 and Interstellar, though no breeder has claimed this lineage. This iteration is fruit-forward, with notes of mango, dark plum, pineapple, and rose, followed by an herbal, peppery finish.
Across both versions, users report a relaxed, euphoric experience that begins with creative and social energy before transitioning into hunger and sleepiness. Both cuts are commonly used as end-of-day options, though the specific balance of effects varies by batch and genetics.
Plant characteristics
The buds are typically dense, dark green, and sticky, covered in a heavy coat of trichomes. Indoors, plants tend to stay compact, reaching 30–60 inches, while outdoor plants may stretch taller. The flowering window is approximately 9–12 weeks.
