XJ-13
XJ-13 is a celebrated Southern California hybrid, recognized for its lineage involving G-13 and Jack Herer. Known for a distinct citrus-forward profile and balanced, upbeat effects, it remains a staple of the region's medical cannabis history.
About XJ-13
XJ-13 gained prominence in Southern California as a sought-after clone-only variety. The line was created by Orange County Patient Care in Santa Ana by pollinating a G-13 female with a Jack Herer male. The resulting progeny was then backcrossed to Jack Herer to emphasize a sweeter, brighter, and more sativa-leaning profile.
The aroma is defined by notes of lemon peel, sweet citrus, pine, and herbs, underscored by a grounding earthiness. Some expressions are noted for a sharp, citrus-cleaner quality. Users frequently report an upbeat, clear-headed, and conversational experience, often described as creative and euphoric, followed by a steadying body sensation. The strain received recognition at the High Times Cannabis Cup, taking bronze for Best Sativa in 2012 and silver for Best Concentrate in 2014.
Plant characteristics
XJ-13 plants typically exhibit moderate-to-tall vertical growth with significant lateral branching. The flowering period generally lasts between 8 and 9 weeks. Due to the sativa-dominant influence, the plants often experience a notable stretch after the light cycle is flipped to flower. As the original line is clone-only, seed versions are considered recreations or approximations of the original cut.
