Candy Runtz is a balanced hybrid celebrated for its candy-like flavor and vibrant, colorful appearance, first introduced by the Runtz Crew in 2017.
About Candy Runtz
Candy Runtz, also known as Runtz or Runtz OG, is a hybrid strain resulting from a collaboration between the Runtz Crew and Cookies Fam. The genetics are derived from a cross between Gelato, sourced from Cookies Fam, and Zkittlez, sourced from Dying Breed Seeds. The Runtz Crew—consisting of Ray Bama, breeder Nick, and Yung LB—first debuted the strain at the 2017 Santa Rosa Emerald Cup. Following a soft premiere, the strain saw an official launch in the spring of 2018. The strain is noted for its candy-like flavor profile, which is often described as a blend of tropical fruit, berry, and citrus. Consumers report a balanced experience that may elevate mood and encourage creativity while providing a sense of physical relaxation.
Plant characteristics
The plant produces dense, colorful nugs characterized by bright orange pistils and a coating of violet-tinted trichomes. Depending on the growing environment, the buds can exhibit a range of hues, including shades of pink, purple, and black.
