About Fort Collins Cough (Ft. Collins Cough)

Originating from the Colorado cannabis scene in the late 1990s, Fort Collins Cough—frequently called The Coff, The Cough, or FoCo Cough—is a storied hybrid. Its history is rooted in a reported cross between Northern Lights #5 and Haze (with some accounts specifying Haze #17), attributed to two growers at Colorado State University. The strain faced near-extinction during the industry's shift toward Kush varieties but was preserved by Professor P of Dynasty Seeds, who valued its mildew resistance and heavy yields.

Known for a sharp, pungent profile, the strain features notes of pine, citrus cleaner, earthy hash, and diesel, finished with a menthol quality that is notoriously harsh on the lungs. Users report a rapid, climbing cerebral effect characterized by racing thoughts and creative energy. While some find it suitable for daytime use, the intensity can become jittery at higher doses.

Plant characteristics

The plant grows tall with significant branching, producing heavy yields of plump, dark-green colas. It requires a flowering period of 70 to 84 days.
