Jupiter OG
Jupiter OG is a distinct OG Kush phenotype from California's Planetary OG series, recognized for its pungent, fuel-forward aroma and heavy, sedative physical effects.
About Jupiter OG
Jupiter OG, or Jupiter OG Kush, is widely attributed to the California-based Planetary OG series, which also includes Mars OG and Saturn OG. It first appeared in the Bay Area during the late 1990s as a distinct OG Kush phenotype. The version propagated by The Cali Connection is a seed-based cross of the original clone-only Jupiter OG cut and a Tahoe OG S1.
The aroma is characterized by earthy woodiness and pungent fuel, which settles into skunky undertones and sharp pine resin. These notes carry through to the flavor, which is described as woody and reminiscent of a forest floor. Consumers frequently report a heavy, full-body relaxation that builds gradually into deep sleepiness, making it a common choice for evening use. Some enthusiasts also note a subtle mood lift that occurs before the physical effects fully settle in.
It is important to distinguish this cultivar from the "Jupiter" strain by In House Genetics, which is a cross of Chem 4 and Goliath and is genetically unrelated.
Plant characteristics
The plant features a compact, bushy structure typical of OG Kush phenotypes, reaching 3–4 feet indoors and 5–6 feet outdoors. The buds are long, fluffy, and pepper-shaped, displaying a minty green color with purple undertones. They are threaded with thin red-orange hairs and coated in frosty white crystal trichomes.
