About Mochi

Mochi—frequently referred to as Mochilato, Gelato 47, Mochi Gelato, Mochi Lato, or White Mochi—is a specific selection from the Gelato family. The strain was selected by San Francisco’s Sherbinskis from the cross of Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint GSC. The number 47 identifies this specific selection. While the name draws inspiration from the Japanese dessert to reflect its sweet and creamy profile, the flavor profile is complex, featuring tangy fruit, vanilla, and floral notes, rounded out by an earthy, biting mint finish.

Users often report an experience that balances creative uplift with significant physical relaxation. This combination is frequently noted by artists and musicians who find the strain allows for a creative headspace while maintaining a mellow, relaxed physical state.

Plant characteristics

Mochi typically grows as a compact plant featuring tightly packed, dense flowers. The buds are characterized by a mix of green and purple hues, accented by orange-to-red pistils and a heavy coating of trichomes. Purple coloration often becomes more pronounced as the plant matures. The original selection has a flowering time of approximately nine to ten weeks. Later seed releases, such as the version offered by Blimburn, may have varying specifications, including indoor yields of 500–600 g/m² and a flowering time of eight to ten weeks; these figures are not verified specifications for Sherbinskis’ original #47 selection.
