Tropical Gelato
Tropical Gelato is a balanced hybrid strain with multiple, often conflicting, origin stories. It is most notably associated with a cross of [[tropicana-cookies|Tropicana Cookies]] and [[gelato|Gelato]] by Colombia Genomic, though other lineages involving [[pineapple|Pineapple]], [[watermelon-gelato|Watermelon Gelato]], and [[sunset-sherbet|Sunset Sherbet]] are frequently cited.
About Tropical Gelato
Tropical Gelato is a complex hybrid that lacks a single, universally accepted lineage. The version created by Colombia Genomic is a cross between Tropicana Cookies and Gelato, drawing heavily from the Cookie and Sherbet genetic families. This strain is distinct from Tropical Gelato 2.0, which shares no common lineage.
Because the name is applied to various combinations, the specific genetic profile can vary significantly depending on the source. Other reported lineages include pairings of Gelato with Pineapple, or combinations involving Watermelon Gelato or Sunset Sherbet.
Users generally describe the strain as having a sweet, dessert-like aroma characterized by notes of pineapple and vanilla, which is often attributed to a high concentration of the terpene myrcene. Reported effects typically include a balance of cerebral stimulation, such as increased energy and creative clarity, paired with a relaxing physical sensation that settles into the body.
Plant characteristics
The buds are dense and display a varied color palette, with foliage ranging from pale green to deep purple. The flowers are typically covered in a thick layer of shimmering white trichomes.
