Za Morant

hybrid

Za Morant is a mysterious hybrid cultivar with two distinct, unverified lineages, both centered around the popular [[zkittlez|Zkittlez]] strain.

About Za Morant

Za Morant is a name currently applied to two different genetic pairings, neither of which has a publicly documented breeder or confirmed origin. The first, and most commonly cited, version is thought to be a cross between Zkittlez—a hybrid of Grape Ape, Grapefruit, and an undisclosed third parent—and Gelato #33 (also known as Larry Bird), a selected phenotype of Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint GSC. This iteration aligns with the fruit-forward, dessert-leaning hybrids that gained popularity in the late 2010s and early 2020s.

A second version is offered by the seed retailer Crop King Seeds, which identifies its Za Morant as a cross between Zkittlez and MAC (Miracle Alien Cookies). MAC, created by Capulator, is a cross of Alien Cookies F2 and a Colombian x Starfighter hybrid, known for adding citrus, earthy spice, and a heavier resin profile to the tropical candy notes of Zkittlez. It remains unconfirmed if the Za Morant products circulating in licensed dispensaries correspond to either of these specific genetic paths.

Reported experiences suggest a deeply relaxing high, characterized by an initial wave of euphoria that settles into a calm, sleepy contentment. Users often describe it as an ideal choice for evening relaxation when seeking to quiet the mind without immediate sedation.

Plant characteristics

The buds are typically dense and frosty, featuring deep green calyxes interspersed with orange pistils. Indoors, the plant remains compact, generally reaching heights of 4 feet or less. When grown outdoors, it can stretch between 5 and 8 feet, showing good tolerance for heat and sun. Due to the density of the trichome-heavy flowers, proper airflow is necessary to prevent mold. The flowering period lasts 8 to 10 weeks, with outdoor harvests typically occurring in September.
