Rare Dankness
Rare Dankness #1 is a foundational breeding male developed by Scott "Moonshine" Reach in the early 2010s, serving as a primary genetic contributor to the Rare Dankness seed library rather than a consumer-facing flower product.
About Rare Dankness
Rare Dankness #1 (RD#1) is a significant piece of Colorado's cannabis breeding history. Refined by Scott "Moonshine" Reach of Rare Dankness Seeds over four generations in the early 2010s, this strain was specifically selected to serve as a potent pollen donor rather than for commercial flower production. Its complex lineage involves a cross of Ghost OG and Chemdawg, which was backcrossed into Ghost OG and further stabilized with Florida's Triangle Kush.
RD#1 was selected for its vigorous growth, high resin production, and the transmission of classic OG funk. It served as the sire for numerous well-known strains, including Scott's OG, 501st OG, and Commerce City Kush. While the plant itself was never released as seed stock, its genetic influence is widespread throughout the modern OG and Kush landscape. Reported effects from its progeny typically feature an initial uplifting sensation that transitions into significant physical sedation, supported by a terpene profile characterized by myrcene, caryophyllene, and limonene, which present as a blend of kush-lemon brightness, pine, and diesel.
